  1. Tourism HR Canada’s Labour Market Forum

    • Tourism HR Canada’s annual Labour Market Forum is back March 15 – 18. This year's free, interactive event centers on four pillars: Skills, Supply, Sentiment, and Strategy. These reflect the devastating impact of the COVID pandemic on the tourism sector as well as the need for innovative approaches to restart tourism in the face of dramatic labor losses. Join delegates representing tourism businesses, associations, governments, and the education sector to define ways to improve workforce strategies, resources, and the capacity to implement them.   2. BC Tourism & Hospitality Conference

    • The Tourism Industry Association of BC and the BC Hotel Association are excited to bring you the first-ever virtual BC Tourism & Hospitality Conference. The Conference takes place between March 8th and 12th and is jam-packed with speakers to equip delegates with skills and resources to successfully tackle 2021.   3. An Introduction to LGBT+ Diversity and Inclusion

    • 2020 left many of realizing our blind spots around inclusivity and when working in an industry as diverse as tourism and hospitality, it’s important to be educated and informed. Canada’s LGBT+ Chamber of Commerce (CGLCC) is offering a free online 1–2-hour self-paced program that will provide a strong foundation for understanding LGBT+ identities and the role you play in offering an inclusive environment. This program is the pre-requisite to join a workshop on Navigating LGBT+ Diversity and Inclusion in the Tourism Industry and become formally certified! Sign up here by March 31st.

  4. Tourism Business Enhancement Program: Revitalizing Your Tourism or Hospitality Business in a COVID World

    • The Tourism Business Enhancement Program, designed by Capilano University’s School of Tourism Management, is a free online five-week program launching March 8th. The program is targeted to those working in the tourism, recreation and hospitality sector that have been negatively impacted by COVID-19. It is primarily aimed at managers and supervisors, but applications from frontline staff will be considered if they meet certain conditions. Participants will come away with knowledge and tools to understand and respond to the new reality of the COVID-impacted tourism and hospitality landscape. Find out if you qualify and apply now here.

  5. BC Wine Industry Insight Conference

    1. The annual BC Wine Industry Insight Conference will be taking place online March 18th. The conference is co-presented by the Wine Growers British Columbia (formerly BC Wine Institute), BC Wine Grape Council, BC Grapegrowers’ Association and the BC Wine Authority. The conference theme Navigating the Future – Together encompasses an exciting program of topics focused on best practices for operating in our new reality. Attendees will be able to choose their preferred break-out sessions for deeper dives into discussions and engagement with your industry colleagues.
