A flagship initiative of WORTH, this program blends self-reflection, strategic thinking, and action planning to help women advance in their careers. With the support of the BCHA and Cause We Care Foundation, we are excited to offer a free, self-paced leadership development program tailored to the realities of single mothers. Whether you're looking to upskill, build confidence, or take the next step in your career, this cohort is here to support you every step of the way.
What is the WORTH Academy for Single Mothers?
This special 6-week edition of WORTH Academy is fully funded and built with flexibility, accessibility, and impact in mind. Designed for working single mothers, the program includes:
Self-paced online learning modules focused on personal and professional leadership development
A one-day, in-person professional development workshop in the Lower Mainland (with lunch and childcare provided)
1:1 industry mentorship through WORTH’s Mentorship Program
Job placement support via our employer partners and career fair access

Who is WORTH Academy for?
This WORTH Academy cohort is designed for self-identifying single mothers working in the recreation, tourism, and hospitality industries across British Columbia. Whether you're a frontline team member, an aspiring leader, or someone returning to the workforce — if you're ready to grow your skills and connect with a powerful network of support, this program is for you. We strongly encourage applications from Indigenous women, racialized women, 2SLGBTQI+ mothers, and all individuals who hold intersecting identities and lived experiences.
