Tourism Industry Association Of BC Joins The WORTH Association Leadership Circle

WORTH Association is pleased to welcome the Tourism Industry Association of BC (TIABC) into our Leadership Circle. This partnership demonstrates TIABC’s commitment to supporting initiatives that elevate, educate and empower self-identifying women in our industry.

TIABC and WORTH Association are in consultation to examine our shared role in promoting diversity, equity, inclusion and reconciliation efforts across the province. WORTH appreciated the opportunity to present our research to TIABC’s board of directors and meet with their DEIR sub-committee.

After learning that women in tourism suffered the highest percentage of job losses as a result of the pandemic, TIABC recognizes the urgency to retain, develop and advance more women into leadership roles.

In addition to joining the Leadership Circle, TIABC has signed on to be a key partner in WORTH’s mentorship program. Our mentorship circles have supported over 100 women and we look forward to a significant expansion thanks to the support of TIABC and partners.

As an Association that envisions a future free of bias, discrimination, and sexism, we are encouraged by this partnership. We applaud TIABC for taking important steps towards advancing gender equity initiatives, a very worthy investment.
