Employment Opportunity: Marketing Coordinator 

Location: Remote. The Marketing Coordinator will be required to attend in-person meetings periodically in Metro and North Vancouver. 

Employment Type: This is a temporary, eight (8) week full-time contract position funded by the Canada Summer Jobs program (CSJ)

Start Date: May 5th 

End Date: June 27th 

Expected Hours per Week: 35

Hourly Rate: $20.52

Job Overview:

We are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented student to join our team this summer. Reporting to the Communications & Community Manager and working alongside the Executive Director, Operations Manager, and volunteers, this position will support the organization's reach, impact, and growth. The successful candidate will support content creation, social media, newsletters, website updates, program delivery, and fundraising outreach. This is an ideal opportunity for a student passionate about equity and storytelling with strong communication, organization, and design skills. 

Key Responsibilities:

Marketing and Communications

  • Content Creation: Develop and schedule engaging content across social media platforms, highlighting gender equity, EDI initiatives, and advocacy efforts.

  • Design & Collateral Production: Design and distribute newsletters, email campaigns, and other promotional materials.

  • Website Management: Maintain and update the organization's website to ensure timely and relevant content.

Research 

  • Market Research: Conduct research to identify outreach, partnership, and program development opportunities that support advocacy and EDI goals.

  • Reporting & Presentation: Assist with the preparation of reports and presentations for internal stakeholders and external partners.

  • Organizational Learning: Contribute to internal discussions and training sessions related to equity, diversity, and inclusion.

Administrative Support:

  • Maintain databases and perform data entry to ensure accuracy and consistency.

  • Respond to inquiries and ensure clear, timely communication.

  • Assist with fundraising efforts by researching prospective donors and sponsors, and drafting and sending outreach emails.

  • Collaborate with the team on special projects and organizational initiatives.

  • Support program delivery by helping plan and implement events and collect participant feedback.

  • Support research and drafting of grant applications.

Eligibility:

  • A Canadian citizen, or a permanent resident, or a person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act. International students are not eligible unless they have PR or citizenship status. 

  • 19-30 years of age (inclusive) at the start of employment

  • Must have been enrolled full- time in school during the preceding academic year

  • Must intend to return to school full time in the next academic year

  • Is a student in a post-secondary, vocational, or technical program

  • Is legally entitled to work according to the relevant BC legislation and regulations.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Proficient in copywriting and a compelling storyteller. 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Technical proficiency in software including Canva, Squarespace, and Google Workspace.

  • Graphic design skills to create compelling visual content

  • Commitment to the mission and values of WORTH Association.

  • Understanding of equity serving groups
